QUEENS — Two people were rushed to the hospital in critical condition after being struck by an SUV in Murray Hill Tuesday afternoon, according to officials.
The vehicle appears to have jumped onto the sidewalk at 162nd Street and Station Road at about 5:30 p.m., according to fire officials and pictures of the accident.
The victims were taken to New York Hospital Queens.
There was no traffic on 162nd Street from Northern Boulevard to Station Road while police investigated, according a tweet from the 109th Precinct at 6:43 p.m.
It was not immediately clear if the driver remained at the scene.
