July 4th weekend is days away, and New York City is emptying out as its residents head for the hills, islands, and other sunny, relaxing climes. Here are the telltale signs that our friends and neighbors are elsewhere for the time being.

A Depopulated Commute

Your train gets less crowded in the summer months or, you're able to seek out mellower modes of transportation to work:
