FLATBUSH — The gunman in a fatal late-night shooting last weekend has been caught, police said.

Kyle Reneau, 26, of East Flatbush was charged with murder and ordered held without bail in the murder of a 33-year-old man last Saturday on Flatbush Avenue.

Reneau and the victim, whose identity was not immediately released, had an argument shortly before 4:15 a.m. on June 13 at a fried chicken restaurant just south of Clarkson Avenue on the border of Flatbush and Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. The fight spilled onto the street, and Reneau shot the man in the head, police said.

Reneau was treated for a gunshot wound to his chin at Methodist Hospital after the shooting, police said.

Twenty-four hours later, five people were shot outside of the D Avenue restaurant and lounge on Flatbush Avenue between Winthrop and Hawthorne streets, two blocks from where Reneau opened fire, police said. Police have identified a suspect in that shooting, but no arrests have been made. The shootings are unrelated, police said.

Reneau was arraigned on Wednesday and is being held without bail, according to court documents. He is due back in court on June 22.
