QUEENS — A new cafe offering wraps and sandwiches made with GMO free bread baked on the premises is slated to open Thursday in Kew Gardens, the owners said.

The owners of Sundance Cafe, at 120-36A Queens Blvd., said they hope to bring more food options to the busy block, near the Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike subway station and across the street from Queens Borough Hall and the Queens Criminal courthouse.

In a statement posted on the cafe's website, the owners said they seek to provide "healthy, everyday takeout" to the neighborhood and pledged they would use “locally sourced and organic ingredients whenever possible.”

Yogie Kana, one of the owners, said the “location is perfect because there is no healthy food at all here.”

Currently, the block features several fast-food chains, including McDonald’s, as well as a pizzeria and a chicken place.

Caffebene, a South Korean coffeehouse chain, is also slated to open its location on the block soon.

Sundance Cafe, which features an on-site bakery and open kitchen, will bake all the bread in house using GMO free flour, the owners said.

The new cafe will offer 10 different wraps such as Low-fat tuna with greens, Sundance veggies with roasted vegetables and fresh mozzarella and Health ‘Wich, with avocado, cucumber, carrots, tomato and Swiss cheese.

Patrons will also get to choose bread from a variety of choices including multigrain, sourdough, baguette and whole wheat.

Also on the menu are fajitas, quesadillas, burritos and pastas as well as salads, 10 soups and several fruit and vegetable juices.

The restaurant, which will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, will also serve a number of breakfast dishes including omelettes, bagels and muffins.

The owners promise affordable prices, which they said will range from about $4 for an omelette to about $6 for wraps.
