Monday, June 8
Northside Film, the first component of the multi-arts and technology Northside Festival kicks off Monday. Northside Film’s mission is to give emerging filmmakers a platform to showcase their work to new audiences. Catch the festival at Nitehawk Cinemas, Videology, the Wythe Hotel and UnionDocs. The Northside Music Festival and Innovation Conference & Expo both begin on Thursday.

Tuesday, June 9
The Museum Mile Festival, covering the rich cultural landscape on Fifth Avenue from 82nd to 105th streets, kicks off Tuesday evening, with free admission to some of the world's finest art collections during extended evening hours. Participating institutions include El Museo del Barrio, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, the Jewish Museum, the National Academy Museum, Neue Galerie and the Museum of the City of New York. Along the route, enjoy outdoor block-party festivities including face painting, chalk drawing and live music. From 6 p.m.

Wednesday, June 10
Dine and drink with author Rachel Kushner this evening as part of BAM’s literary evening “Eat Drink & Be Literary." Moderated by editor of The Paris Review, Lorin Stein, and Deborah Treisman, fiction editor at The New Yorker. Each event begins with a buffet dinner, including wine and dessert, accompanied by live music. Following dinner, Kushner reads from her work and discusses her creative process. From 6:30 p.m. $60. BAMcafé, 30 Lafayette Ave., Howard Gilman Opera House, Fort Greene.

Thursday, June 11
Each day this week, Daybreak Week provides epic morning dance parties across the city. Run by the Daybreaker crew, the group describe themselves as a “morning movement that will start your day off unlike anything else… it’s about dancing your face off before work and feeling gloriously healthy while doing so.” Thursday’s morning party at Cielo kicks off at 6 a.m. with yoga session with the dance music cranking up at 7 a.m. Tickets are $25 from 7 a.m. or $40 from 6 a.m. 18 Little W. 12th St, West Village.
