Is Inwood the new Brooklyn?

Lena Dunham's Brooklyn-centric HBO series "Girls" will film scenes in an apartment building at 4700 Broadway this week, according to production signs posted in the area.

The show will be shot in the courtyard, lobby and some apartments in the building, between Arden Street and Dongan Place, on the nights of June 9-11, the signs say.

A member of "Girls" production team who declined to give her name said she could not answer questions about whether or not the building would be identified as Inwood in the show, or if it would be used to represent a different part of the city.

“We’re certainly looking forward to going up there,” the staffer said. “It’s a lovely neighborhood.”

Inwood residents had mixed reactions to the news in community Facebook groups.

"Love the show and love it when they film TV shows and movies in our neighborhood," Rim Chon wrote.

However, others were less enthused.

"I hope it's just a generic NYC location they are depicting, and not a scene taking place in Inwood during the show," wrote John Ward Beekman."I liked this place better when no one knew where it was."

Some wished the Brooklyn invasion would come in a different form.

"Ugh. Couldn't it be Broad City instead?" wrote Alex Gould.
