91-Year-Old Woman Dies Weeks After Being Hit by Car in Brooklyn

EAST FLATBUSH — A 91-year-old woman died two weeks after she was struck by a car near her Brooklyn home, according to the NYPD.

Police say Iris Rhooms died Tuesday at Kings County Hospital, where she was being treated for injuries she sustained after being hit May 19 just blocks from where she lives in East Flatbush.

She had walked into the street on Lenox Road near East 51st Street around 9:30 a.m. when she was struck by a 2005 Chevy Tahoe being driven by a 62-year-old, police said.

There were no arrests as of Friday morning, according to the NYPD.
