COBBLE HILL — More than $6,800 worth of Yves Saint Laurent merchandise was stolen from Barneys' luxury Atlantic Avenue store, police said.
Two men went into the store on May 31 about 12:50 p.m. and began stuffing the valuables into a shopping bag, according to police.
They started walking out of the shop at 194 Atlantic Ave. without paying when the stolen goods triggered an alarm at the door, authorities said.
A 25-year-old security guard confronted the duo and asked to see the contents of the bag when one of the men punched the guard in his left eye, police said.
The two fled the store with four pieces of YSL merchandise, two priced at $1,550 and the other two worth $1,890. A description of the stolen property was not immediately available.
Barney's declined to comment.
