New York City’s newest attraction is positioned on top of the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere — the 1,776 foot tall One World Trade Center building. One World Observatory is located on levels 100, 101, and 102 of the building, and it takes just under one minute in super-fast futuristic elevators to reach your destination. The view is an epic panorama of downtown New York City and beyond, and after you’ve snapped your selfies, grab a bite in the ONE restaurant or cafe. Adult tickets from $32. One World Trade Center, 285 Fulton St., Financial District. 9 a.m. until midnight (last ticket sold at 11:15 p.m.), 7 days a week.

Film critic Roger Ebert once said of Indian filmmaker Satyajit Ray that, “never before had one man had such a decisive impact on the films of his culture... It is about a time, place and culture far removed from our own, and yet it connects directly and deeply with our human feelings.” Ebert was referring to Ray’s acclaimed Apu Trilogy, three 1950s Bengali films: "Pather Panchali" (1955), "Aparajito" (1956) and "Apur Sansar" (1959). Although the films were produced by Ray on a shoestring budget using an amateur cast and crew, the trilogy is recognized as a milestone in Indian cinema. Films are showing Tuesday at the Film Forum (their Apu Trilogy season has been extended through to June 16) at 12:30 p.m., 2:50 p.m., 5:10 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 9:50 p.m. $13. 209 West Houston St., West Village.
