BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Get your wheels oiled this weekend at Indigo Artist Collective’s annual Spring Bike Tune-Up and Art Festival.

The Bed-Stuy grassroots organization is hosting the Fulton Park festivities with free bike repairs, live music, yoga and fitness workshops, and a bike giveaway for 30 kids.

Children ages 5 through 13 can sign up for raffle tickets to win customized bicycles, which will be decorated on site by local artists.

The event is meant to help combat childhood obesity and raise awareness about healthy living, according to organizer Dashaughn Miller.

“As we continued year after year with the event, we realized its something really needed here,” Miller said. “Plus, the bikes create a bond between the artists and the kids when they see them riding through the community.”

Attendees of all ages can bring their rides to get tuned up for free, and the Indigo Artist Collective will also host safety clinics and a live BMX exhibition.

The group is collaborating with The Wellness Market, which brings more than 50 vendors offering vegetarian food, baked goods, organic skincare products, juices, and edible fruit- and vegetable-based paints for kids.

Children can also participate in face-painting and creative murals.

The Spring Bike Tune-Up takes place on Saturday, May 30 from noon to 5 p.m. at Fulton Park. For more information, visit the Indigo Artist Collective Facebook page.
