FORT GREENE — An "American fare" restaurant serving specialty coffees in the morning and signature cocktails at night recently opened on Myrtle Avenue.

Myrtle + Gold opened this month at 343 Gold St., at the corner of Myrtle Avenue, with operating hours from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily.

Specialty coffee drinks and pastries are served at the coffee bar in the morning, with brunch starting at 11 a.m. Dinner begins at 5 p.m. and the bar, which offers cocktails like "Bullet Bourbon Ice Tea" and "Caperberry Juice Bloody Mary," stays open until 2 a.m.

The menu includes dishes like Sriracha honey chicken wings served with buttermilk dressing and black sesame seeds; a kale and quinoa bowl with roasted mushroom, peas and favas; and a dessert of clafoutis made with blackberry, brown butter and whipped cream.

Myrtle + Gold, which opened in the former Palmer's space, also an outdoor patio with 100 seats overlooking Myrtle Avenue.

► Starbucks opened its first outpost in the neighborhood this week at 394 Myrtle Ave. The coffee giant celebrated its grand opening in the former discount store Home & U that remained shuttered for nearly two years.

Starbucks will share the space with Chipotle that is coming soon.
