UPPER WEST SIDE — A $60,000 Rolex watch was stolen from a car parked on Riverside Drive this weekend, police said.
A thief, or thieves, smashed the back window of a 2014 Chrysler that was parked in front of 104 Riverside Drive, near West 84th Street, and stole the pricey timepiece from the car's middle console where it was stashed, police said.
The 28-year-old driver had parked the vehicle on Riverside Drive at 10:30 a.m. on May 24 and left it there overnight with his watch inside, police said. He returned at 1:30 p.m. the next day to discover the theft.
The watch was from Rolex's "President" collection. Police did not have a description of the suspect or suspects.
Earlier this month, a woman had $1,600 in cash stolen from a car she parked overnight on West 61st Street after a thief smashed the car's back window, police said.
