The Most Delectable Local Farm-to-Table Instagram Feeds

By Emilie Ruscoe | May 8, 2015 3:34pm | Updated on May 12, 2015 8:33pm

Despite New York's long, cold winters and abundance of concrete, the city's intrepid locavore restaurateurs are pros at sourcing locally grown ingredients for seasonal dishes to grace their tables. Many of them also happen to be excellent at Instagramming their enticing entrees. Here are the city's loveliest farm-to-table Instagram feeds for your viewing pleasure, and also, perhaps, some rooftop gardening inspiration.

Rosemary's West Village Italian Enoteca and Trattoria at 18 Greenwich Ave. in the West Village

Rosemary's grows produce in its rooftop garden — and serves that produce with dramatic effect.

The Farm on Adderley at 1108 Cortelyou Rd. in Ditmas Park

A favorite of "High Maintenance" creators Katja Blichfeld and Ben Sinclair, the Farm on Adderley keeps busy: they host evening events for the gastronomically inclined and they'll be serving at Celebrate Brooklyn! this summer.

Northeast Kingdom at 18 Wyckoff Ave. in Bushwick

Northeast Kingdom's menu is not short on locally sourced meat, to the delight of Brooklyn's many locavore-carnivores. And there's no shortage of flora in the kitchen as well: they recently foraged their own ramps, and they make their bitters in-house.

We shake our own bitters. Because we care. About bitters. And caring.

ABC Kitchen at 35 East 18th St. in the Flatiron

Speaking of ramps — nothing says "springtime on the New York restaurant scene" like ramps, which have become so popular in the last few years that they now have their own annual festival in the Hudson Valley. ABC Kitchen understands this, and is well-prepared to feed a ramps-crazed public.

The Gramercy Tavern at 42 East 20th St. in Gramercy

The Gramercy Tavern has been operating since 1994, long before restaurant Instagram accounts were a thing, but they've embraced the medium beautifully.

The Pines at 285 Third Ave. in Gowanus

In this region, seasonal food isn't always colorful. The Pines has perfected the art form.

Marlow & Sons at 81 Broadway at Berry Street in Williamsburg

While The Pines keeps things bright, Marlow and Sons is rocking the early spring earth tones.

Colonie at 127 Atlantic Ave. in Brooklyn Heights

Another key springtime seasonal food item in NYC: asparagus. And don't worry, Colonie is on the case. Also present in this particular dish: ramps, because ramps.

Blenheim at 283 West 12th St. at West 4th Street in the West Village

Operating a 150-acre farm in the Catskills to supply your restaurant is some serious dedication. As is abundantly evident on Blenheim's Instagram feed, that dedication pays off.

Alobar at 46-42 Vernon Blvd. at 47th Avenue in Long Island City

How's your flatbread game? Probably not as good as Alobar's. Exhibit A:
