Things don't end well when heroes show up to brawl in the Big Apple.
In honor of National Super Hero day, we've updated our map showing where comic book heroes have faced off in New York City.
The map, made with data from dozens of superhero films, IMDB and our nerd brains, makes one thing perfectly clear: they just love wrecking midtown.
Whether it's Spider-Man fighting on a fictional R train, the Avengers tussling through Grand Central, or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles battling Shredder above Times Square, our city tends to get seriously damaged pretty often on both the big and small screens.
Other parts of town get bludgeoned too, and not just when they get renamed Hell's Kitchen. Harlem takes a beating during the Hulk's battle with the Abomination, Captain America does loads of damage to World-War II era Brooklyn, the X-Men wreak havoc on Liberty Island, and if the new X-Men: Apocalypse trailer is to be believed, things are looking bleak for the Brooklyn Bridge
It's enough to make you want to pack up and move to Smallville.
