CORONA — Spring has finally arrived, and you can celebrate it this Saturday at the annual cherry blossom festival at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.
The 11th annual Sakura Matsuri fesitval is co-sponsored by the Parks Department and the Japanese American Association, and it will feature live entertainment, including singing and dancing, officials said. There will also be a parade through the park.
A new donated tree will also be planted at the park, according to the Parks Department, to let even more flowers bloom along the Grand Central Parkway.
The event runs from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Cherry Tree grove, near the New York State Pavilion.
Cherry blossoms have also bloomed across the city, including the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
