CROWN HEIGHTS — An East Flatbush man died over the weekend suffering a seizure behind the wheel and slamming into gas station, police said.

Richard Jones, 68, was pronounced dead at Interfaith Hospital after hitting a car and a gas pump at a BP gas station at the corner of Atlantic and Utica avenues just before 11 p.m. Sunday night.

Investigators said Jones’ vehicle had been stopped at a red light at the intersection when it veered to the right, mounted the curb and hit the pump and another car parked in the station.

Police believe Jones suffered a possible seizure, though the cause of the crash is still being investigated.

There were no passengers in the vehicle with Jones and no other injuries reported at the gas station, officials said.

Jones was a resident of East 52nd St. in East Flatbush.
