BEDFORD-STUYVESANT —  A 16-year-old was arrested and charged with arson Tuesday in connection with a small blast on the C train tracks, police said.

Keyshawn Brown is accused of placing a metal rail sign on the tracks at the Nostrand Avenue subway stop last Thursday, causing a blast as the train entered the station, according to officials.

The incident occurred around 8 a.m. during morning rush hour, MTA officials said.

Video of the alleged vandalism posted on YouTube prompted an investigation from the MTA and NYPD.

Brown caused more than $5,000 in damage to MTA property and the blast created a risk of derailment and injury to MTA crew and passengers, according to police.

"We’re glad the NYPD is addressing this dangerous vandalism," MTA spokesman Kevin Ortiz said in a statement.

In addition to arson, the teen is charged with criminal mischief and reckless endangerment.

Brown was also arrested in February in an assault case, according to police.
