BROOKLYN — An elderly woman died Thursday, nine days after she was struck by a car in East New York, police said.
The 84-year-old, whose name was not immediately released, was crossing Louisiana Avenue just north of Vandalia Avenue about 3:30 p.m. on March 25 when a 76-year-old man in a southbound Chevrolet Malibu struck her, NYPD officials said.
She suffered severe head injuries and was taken to Brookdale Hospital, police said.
The driver, whose name was also not released, remained on the scene and was not immediately arrested or ticketed, NYPD officials said.
