EAST HARLEM — Police arrested a suspect in Wednesday’s fatal East Harlem stabbing.
Randy McNair, 22, was arrested for the murder of Melvin McLoyd, 26, in front of 58 East 117th St. at 1:25 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
The two men were at a Saint Patrick’s Day party at the residential building when an argument broke out after a neighbor asked their group to keep the noise down, police said.
McNair, who police said has four prior arrests, including one for drunken driving, repeatedly told the group to keep it down. The two men left the party and continued the argument outside the building, police said.
McNair, who had blood on him when police found him, is suspected of stabbing McLoyd in the chest with a knife, police said.
McLoyd was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead Wednesday morning.
