STATEN ISLAND — Fire tore through an Arden Heights home late Tuesday, killing a woman who lived there and seriously injuring her husband, police and fire officials said.

The blaze started at 246 Annadale Rd. around 10:30 p.m. It took more than 60 firefighters an hour to bring under control, an FDNY spokesman said.

Emergency workers found the couple unconscious and unresponsive inside the home, police said. The pair was rushed to Staten Island University South Hospital where Frances Quinones, 63, died.

Her husband remained in serious condition Wednesday morning, police said.

Three other people sustained minor injuries but fire officials didn't have more details.
