CORONA — Deputy Inspector Ronald Leyson is leaving the 110th Precinct after being transferred to a post in the borough command, he announced Thursday at the monthly community council meeting.

Capt. Chris Manson, who is currently the commanding officer of the 104th Precinct, will take the helm at the 110th Precinct next week.

Leyson introduced Manson at Thursday's meeting, and said it would be an easy transition since the two are very similar.

"I have a filter compared to Capt. Manson," joked Leyson, who was known for holding open community meetings and offering up the good and bad news to the community.

Official orders had not been finalized by the NYPD yet, but they should start in their new roles next week, they said.

Leyson will be an administrator with the patrol borough Queens North, based in the 112th Precinct stationhouse in Forest Hills, he said.

He came to the 110th Precinct in 2011 from the 111th Precinct in Bayside, where he was the commanding officer.

Before that he worked in task forces and borough-wide posts throughout Queens and also served as the executive officer at the 115th Precinct.

It was his knowledge of the borough that made him a good fit for the position, according to Chief Diana Pizzuti.

"We were lucky to keep him in the borough, because of his vast knowledge of Queens," she said.

Leyson will help with the borough's major events, coordinating coverage around the Queens Center Mall, Citi Field and Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.

Community council president Evelyn DeCoursey brought a cake to celebrate Leyson's tenure.

"I'm proud to say, I think that because of the people that I've had working for me, I've been successful," he said, holding back tears.

"I feel like I'm leaving on top."
