PARKCHESTER — A young man was shot to death just steps from his home on Tuesday afternoon, police officials said.
At 4:41 p.m. emergency workers responed to an assault in front of 1504 Leland Avenue. They found Pablo Beard, 21, with one gunshot wound in the chest and transported him to Jacobi Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Beard lived a few doors down from the crime scene, police said.
Police said they are looking for a male suspect who fled the scene wearing a black jacket and a black hooded sweatshirt.
