BROOKLYN — A person was hit by a train inside the Union Street subway station Thursday morning, FDNY officials said.
The person was struck about 8:40 a.m. near Fourth Avenue, the FDNY said.
The person was taken to Lutheran hospital, said an FDNY spokeswoman who did not know the person's condition.
Commuters posted images to social media of firefighters peering into the gap between a train and the station's platform.
"Someone is under this train," Instagram user @theclairecolmar posted about 8:45 a.m.
Manhattan-bound R trains are running express from 36th Street to Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center, the MTA said.
