MIDTOWN EAST — Power up your commute through Grand Central today with a pair of free Nutella-filled treats.
Chef Dominique Ansel will dole out hundreds of free "pancake cones" topped with Nutella's hazelnut-chocolate spread at Grand Central Terminal starting at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Ansel's SoHo bakery announced.
In celebration of International Pancake Tuesday, the chef will give each commuter two pancake cones while supplies last.
"There's something about Nutella that goes beyond just the flavors of hazelnut and cocoa, but has an emotion that brings me right back to my childhood," Ansel said in a statement. "It is always a fun inspiration for new creations."
Ansel — who is famous for creating Cronuts and other sweets at his Spring Street bakery — was giving away the cones in Grand Central's Vanderbilt Hall, near the 42nd Street entrance.
Supplies were running low just before 1 p.m., but there were still some pancake cones left, a spokeswoman said.
