QUEENS — Grammy-nominated British singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran, who performed with Taylor Swift and wrote songs for One Direction, will sing at Forest Hills Stadium in May, organizers announced Monday on Twitter.
Sheeran, 23, who is known for blending pop, folk and hip-hop, performed on Sunday with The Roots drummer Questlove at the 57th annual Grammy Awards. His album “X” was nominated for Album of the Year, but the prize went to Beck’s “Morning Phase.”
Tickets for concerts, scheduled for Thursday, May 28 and Friday, May 29, will cost between $65.50 and $85.50. Fans will be able to buy them starting on Friday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m., according to the organizers.
Last year, the organizers also announced that The Who, one of the most influential British rock bands, will return to Forest Hills Stadium this year, more than four decades after their last performance at the venue.
The concert, scheduled for Saturday, May 30, will be part of the band’s fiftieth anniversary tour.
In 2013, the stadium, which recently underwent a major facelift, organized its first concert in 15 years with a sold-out performance by Mumford & Sons.
Among the bands that played there last summer were The Replacements and Zac Brown Band.
Reps for Sheeran did not immediately respond to emails for comment.
