CARROLL GARDENS — A pair of thieves distracted a woman pushing a stroller in Carroll Gardens before swiping an expensive designer wallet from her purse, police said.

The victim, a 39-year-old woman, was standing at the crosswalk with her stroller on Smith and Union streets about 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 9 when a man approached her and asked for directions, police said.

While speaking to the man, an unknown woman took the $500 Prada wallet from inside the victim's purse, which was hanging off the side of the stroller, police said.

Along with the wallet, the woman lost two credit cards and $60 in cash.

Police could not immediately confirm if there was a child in the stroller.

Other notable incidents from the 76th Precinct, according to police, include:

► More than $5,000 worth of jewelry and electronics was stolen from a Cobble Hill apartment between Jan. 16 and 18 while the victim was away from her home for a few days. When the 39-year-old woman returned to her apartment, the front door was unlocked but there were no signs of forced entry.

The victim lost about $5,850 in valuables, including a $600 gold butterfly pendant, a $1,000 gold and diamond ring, Bose speakers and an Apple keypad and track pad.

► Two food deliverymen were robbed in Red Hook in separate incidents that took place within a week of each other.

In the first robbery on Jan. 11 about 9:30 p.m., a man was delivering food to a building on Hicks Street near Bush Street when two unknown men approached him with a silver handgun and took $100 in cash, a cellphone and the food worth $26.

The second incident occured about three blocks away on Mill Street around 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 17. A man delivering Chinese food was approached by two men who ran towards the victim and pushed him off his bicycle.

One of the men showed the victim a silver firearm — possibly a revolver — and said, "Give me all of your money," according to the police report. The victim handed them about $40 in cash. The second man then said, "Give me your phone," reached into the 47-year-old victim's pocket and took a gray Sony Ericsson.

"You have five seconds to leave," the first robber told the victim, before fleeing.

The men in the second incident were described as about 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds and 5-foot-6 and 200 pounds.
