NEW YORK CITY — A vegan ice cream shop that uses soy, almond and coconut milks as the base of its products is one of several recent cafes and bars to open recently in the city. 

Here are four new places to eat and drink this weekend:

Morris Sandwich Shop at 569 Lincoln Place in Crown Heights
The Morris grilled cheese food truck has graduated to a physical storefront. The casual Morris Sandwich Shop has counter service and menu items such as the “Pollos Hermanos” sandwich with chicken, buffalo sauce mayo and pickled celery for $7. Its signature grilled cheese is on the menu for $5.

BLVD Wine Bar at 4720 Center Blvd. in Long Island City
The new BLVD Wine Bar is a collaborative effort from the neighboring Blue Streak Wines and Spirits and the nearby Burger Garage. It stocks more than 40 different wines, with four of them on tap and glasses starting from $6.  

Sekend Sun at 32-11 Broadway in Astoria
Brooklyn bar owners are following the wave of younger tenants to Queens by opening a new bar in Astoria. Jay Zimmerman and Derrek Vernon are offering high-end bar food and seasonal drinks including one named after Astoria’s famous piano–makers Steinway & Sons.

DF Mavens at 37 St. Marks Place in the East Village
A vegan ice cream company that stocks its products in grocery stores including Whole Foods has opened its first storefront on Second Avenue and St. Mark’s Place. DF Mavens uses soy, almond and coconut milks as the dairy-free base for its ice creams. Flavors include mint almond cookie and Madagascar vanilla bean.
