MANHATTAN — Police are searching for a man who was caught on surveillance video groping a woman on a Midtown subway platform before dashing away.

The man can be seen turning to look at the 24-year-old woman while he passed her on the 6 train platform at 51st Street at about 1:50 a.m. on July 30. He then suddenly reaches out and grabs her buttocks just before running through the turnstile, according to the NYPD.

In the video, the woman appears to turn around and try to confront the man as he runs off.

The suspect is in his 20s and was last seen wearing glasses, a multi-colored striped sweater and black pants. He also appeared to have a backpack on, police said.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
