
OZONE PARK — A massive fire tore through a four-story Queens building Thursday evening, displacing residents from 24 apartments the week before Christmas, fire officials said.
The blaze broke out about 4 p.m. near the roof of the building at 103-45 97th Street near Liberty Avenue and quickly spread to five alarms by 5 p.m., officials said.

An FDNY spokesman said that it took 198 firefighters from 44 units to bring the fire under control.
There were no serious injuries, but one of the residents was treated for minor exposure from standing in the 40 degree weather.

The Red Cross also responded to the fire to provide temporary housing , emergency food, clothing and emotional support, a spokesman said.
The agency set up a relief center at PS 65 at 103-22 99th St.
