CORONA — Shop local, and enjoy global sounds at an arts and music festival that aims to "warm up" the winter season.

The Queens Museum is hosting its "Warming Up Winter: A Made in Queens Festival"  featuring more than 40 vendors, who will sell their handmade jewelry, clothing and more on Dec. 13.

The festival is organized by Open A.I.R Artists Services at the Queens Museum, which supports artist development locally, according to Silvia Juliana Mantilla Ortiz, the artist services coordinator.

"We are working to expand who we imagine as an artist as many cultural producers in our community may not have gone through traditional avenues for professionalization, but are key to the thriving culture in our borough," she said.

In addition to the market, there will be performances by BombaYo, a drumming workshop; the Corona Youth Music Orchestra; Estudiantina Bolivia, a traditional music group; and Ecuador Sumag LLacta, which is dance.

Project Luz will also set up a photobooth for pictures and a Nativity scene will be built by volunteers from Latin Women in Action, according to organizers.

The event runs from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., with live music throughout the day. For more information, visit their website.
