CROWN HEIGHTS — Police at the 77th Precinct are offering $2,000 to anyone who can lead them to those responsible for torching a police officer’s personal vehicle Wednesday night as it was parked next to the station house.

A poster announcing the reward was released by the precinct Friday morning.

“The NYPD is requesting information for a person or persons responsible for intentionally setting a 2013 Dodge Challenger on fire at the corner of Utica Avenue," the flyer reads.

Photos from the police department show the badly damaged car outside the stationhouse on Bergen Street, covered in dust with a broken front window.

The car had no police placards in its windows at the time of the incident, officials said. On Thursday, a representative from the precinct said there was no known motive for the crime, but said extra officers would patrol the station house so it “doesn’t become a pattern.”

The arson coincided with citywide protests of a Staten Island grand jury’s decision to not indict the police officer in the death of Eric Garner, but investigators have not officially linked the two events.

Anyone with information about the incident are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-8477 or the 77th Precinct Detective Squad at (212) 253-6331.
