MANHATTAN — A Brooklyn man was arrested Tuesday for a hit-and-run accident that killed a 33-year-old financier in Union Square early Sunday morning, police said.
Macgyver Beltran, 25, of East New York, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident after running down Doohee Cho at 3:15 a.m., according to the NYPD.
Cho, who worked at GE Capital, was crossing Fifth Avenue between 15th and 16th streets just steps from his apartment building when Beltran, driving a white 2014 Chevrolet Impala heading southbound, struck him.
The financial worker suffered severe head trauma and was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Beltran was expected to be arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court Tuesday night.
