CARROLL GARDENS — Nothing says Oktoberfest like Schnauzers, suds and sauerkraut.

By Brooklyn, a "fine goods" shop in Carroll Gardens, is hosting its second-annual Oktoberfest party in celebration of dachshunds and schnauzers on Oct. 4.

The store at Smith and Degraw streets will open up its backyard from 3 to 5 p.m. for the doggy party with beers from Shmaltz Brewing Company, pretzels, bratwurst and sauerkraut, owner Gaia DiLoreto said.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to Sean Casey Animal Rescue. Last year’s party raised $400 for Brooklyn Animal Action, DiLoreto said.

The Smith Street shop has hosted a number of dog-friendly fests in the last couple of years, including an annual French Bulldog party that raised about $800 for Brooklyn Animal Action in July.

While dachshunds and schnauzers — both German breeds — will be the stars of the party, any breed of dog can attend, DiLoreto said.

By Brooklyn welcomes pooches into its shop and usually has treats on hand for its four-legged guests.

“It’s sad to see dogs tied up outside a store,” DiLoreto said. “We want everyone to feel welcome.”
