BROOKLYN — A 12-year-old boy was hospitalized after being shot in the leg during a Brownsville shootout Monday afternoon, police said.

The boy was wounded in the left leg about 4:10 p.m. in front of 211 Lott Ave. and taken to Kings County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the NYPD.

"It seems like it was two perpetrators shooting at each other," a police source said. "I guess he was just an innocent bystander."

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
