BROOKLYN — A man was fatally shot in the head as he ordered a cup of coffee from a window at an East New York bodega early Wednesday morning, the NYPD said.

The 50-year-old man, whose name was not released, had just driven up to the bodega at 860 New Lots Ave., near Shepherd Avenue, about 4 a.m. and was standing at the service window when he was shot, the police spokesman said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the NYPD.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the shooting.

There were no immediate arrests after the Wednesday homicide.
