CORONA — An enraged man violated an order of protection Wednesday night and stabbed his ex-girlfriend several times before trying to kill himself and crashing into a group of parked cars, police said.

Jin Deng Shi, 38, approached the 35-year-old woman Wednesday night in front of her home on 53rd Avenue near 88th Street in Corona, forcing her into her car by knifepoint, police said.

Inside the car, the woman was stabbed in the arms trying to fight Shi off before managing to get out, according to the NYPD. After she escaped, Shi knocked her to the ground and stabbed her several times in the neck, stomach and arms, police said.

The woman was brought to a nearby hospital and is in critical condition, officials said.

Shi — who had an order of protection issued against him after a July 4 incident where he stole the victim's car, then took her phone when she tried to call police — tried to drive off but crashed into a group of parked cars on 53rd Avenue, police said.

He then fled on foot and was later found in an alley off Junction Boulevard with a self-inflicted slash to his throat. He was brought to the hospital for surgery.

Shi was charged with attempted murder, felony assault, criminal contempt and possession of a weapon, among other charges, according to officials.
