Crown Heights Man Robbed at Gunpoint and Shot At, Police Say

BROOKLYN — Two men stole more than $400 from a Crown Heights man in a gunpoint mugging before they shot at him and missed on Sunday, July 6, police said.

The pair, entered the lobby of a President Street building about 6:30 a.m. and threatened a 40-year-old resident with a gun while demanding his belongings, the NYPD said.

The victim, whose name was not released, forked over $400 and a debit card before running away, prompting the thieves to shoot in his direction, police said. The victim was not injured and the muggers fled, police said.

The suspects were recorded on surveillance video and are believed to be in their late 20s or early 30s, police said.

One was about 6 feet fall and wore a blue and black striped hoodie with dark pants, according to the NYPD. The other man, who was about two inches shorter, wore a dark jacket and black pants, police said.
