Man's Body Found in Waters Off Brooklyn Bridge Park, Police Say

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — A man's body was pulled from the East River near Brooklyn Bridge Park early Monday morning, police said.

The NYPD's Harbor Unit discovered the the man, believed to be in his 20s, floating in the water near Pier 6 of the park at Atlantic Avenue about 6:20 a.m. after responding to a 911 call, police said. 

The man was unconscious and unresponsive when he was brought to shore and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Medical Examiner's office will determine the identity of the man and is investigating the cause of death, police said. 

A spokeswoman for Brooklyn Bridge Park referred a request for comment to the NYPD.
