CROWN HEIGHTS — Before the 9,000-square-foot beer hall and eatery Berg’n can open this summer, it needs people to help run the place.
On Tuesday, Berg’n’s management team will host a job fair to fill positions available at the venue, located on Bergen Street between Classon and Franklin avenues. The total staff at Berg’n will be about 45 people, though some senior management positions have already been filled, according to Jonathan Butler, the beer hall's co-founder. He said most of the positions will be full-time.
“Applicants can expect to meet with one member of Berg'n management to briefly discuss their résumé, application and experience,” Butler said of the Tuesday job fair in an email. “All job-seeking candidates need to present either a résumé or a completed application.”
Available jobs at Berg’n include bartenders, servers and dishwashers. The new venue has no opening date yet, but those who are hired can expect to start work “towards the end of this month,” Butler said.
Vendors at Berg’n, which will have indoor and outdoor seating, include Pizza Moto, Mighty Quinn’s Barbeque, Ramen Burger, Asiadog and Blue Marble ice cream. The restaurant and watering hole was created in conjunction with the newly opened office building 1000 Dean Street, which is located on the north side of the same block as Berg’n.
The Berg’n job fair will be held at 899 Bergen St. in Crown Heights on Tuesday, July 8, in two parts: from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Applications for the fair are available here.
