PROSPECT PARK — Get ready for a hot night on eight wheels — roller disco is coming back to Brooklyn.
Starting next month, the Lakeside skating rink in Prospect Park will host a 1980s-themed roller disco party for adults every Friday night at 8 p.m.
Coney Island veteran Dianna "Lola Star" Carlin, an expert in skating extravaganzas, will host the Dreamland Roller Disco, organizers said. She was the force behind parties of the same name held in the historic Childs Building on the Coney Island boardwalk between 2008 and 2010. These events combined dancing contests, skating lessons, burlesque performances and carnival acts — all elements she’ll bring to Lakeside.
The Prospect Park rink’s eatery, the Bluestone Cafe, will sell wine and beer during the events.
The first roller disco is set for July 11 and will have a “Flashdance” theme. But if you miss it, don’t worry — every party will have some sort of 1980s theme and attendees are encouraged to wear “costumes that embody the glitz and glam of the 1980s” to all Dreamland events, organizers said.
Admission to the Dreamland Roller Disco is $15. This includes skate rentals. The party will take place from 8-10 p.m. on Fridays, starting July 11.
