TOTTENVILLE — A Staten Island 5K kicking off a waterfront festival will get racers to step back in time when DayGlo clothes were still popular.

Saturday's fifth-annual Raritan Bay Festival will kick off with a "5K by the Bay Race" that asks racers to dress in workout duds from the '70s and '80s while they complete the 3.1-mile course in the Conference House Park.

"Wear your sweatbands and your shorter shorts," said James Pistilli, president of the Tottenville Civic Association who's planning the event. "[We're] kicking it back to what the race would of looked like in the '70s and '80s."

The race, run by King of the Mountain events, starts at 10 a.m. and kicks off the free Raritan Bay Festival put on by the civic association, Conference House Park Conservancy, and the Parks Department.
