LOWER EAST SIDE — A man was arrested Sunday and charged with fatally stabbing his sister and leaving her body in the bathtub of their Eldridge Street apartment Friday evening, police said.
Chuen Lau, 55, was charged with murder after his sister, 57-year-old Meilin Liu, was found at 6 p.m. Friday in the bathtub of their shared apartment at 115 Eldridge St., near Broome Street, the NYPD said.
Liu was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
It was not immediately clear what sparked the fatal stabbing.
Lau had never been arrested before and there wasn't any history of domestic disputes between he and his sister, an NYPD spokesman said.
