Tatz Gourmet Sweetz on the Upper West Side
This gluten-free bakery began serving its treats at 844 Amsterdam Ave. earlier this month. The store's menu has options for those searching for dairy-free and vegan items, with banana bread and other treats. The shop also offers custom baking.
"We don't just sell gluten-free sweets," owner Tatiana Budyuk said. "We also have dairy-free and vegan items as well."
Stout NYC in the Financial District
The busy Midtown sports bar Stout NYC opened its downtown outpost on Monday. The new place at 90 John St. has a large selection of whiskeys and a new beer list, as well as plenty of TVs for every sport, from ultimate fighting to golf.
The growing collection of coffee shops in The Bean chain has added a location this week at 101 Bedford Ave. The shop opened Thursday and has The Bean's usual collection of espresso, a food menu and free WiFi.
The Cat Café on the Lower East Side
A pop-up cat café is promoting cat adoption by allowing coffee-drinking patrons to cuddle potential pets while they sip. The café is sponsored by Purina One and is open until Sunday at 168 Bowery.
