QUEENS — Authorities are trying to identify human remains found in Elmhurst over the weekend.

A man collecting cans Saturday afternoon found a human skull inside a bag near the Long Island Rail Road tracks along 43rd Avenue and Judge Street, WNBC/Channel 4 reported.

Responding officers found two more bags filled with bones nearby, an NYPD spokesman said.

The remains were turned over to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
