QUEENS — A elderly woman killed by an unlicensed hit-and-run driver in Richmond Hill Thursday morning, becoming the 20th pedestrian fatality so far this year, the NYPD said.

Kaneez Hussein, 73, was walking in the middle of Jamaica Avenue at 131st Street about 6:30 a.m. when she was hit by a Nissan Altima, police said.

She was taken to Jamaica Hospital where she was declared dead.

The driver, 27-year-old Bladimer Alvarez Sorto, fled the scene but was latter arrested by the police.

Sorto was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a license.

On Wednesday, Mayor Bill de Blasio unveiled his plan, called Vision Zero, for reducing pedestrian fatalities and cracking down on reckless driving.
