FLATIRON — Two men were shot in their legs outside an after-hours club just steps from Madison Square Park Friday morning, witnesses and police said.

Two men, whose identities were not immediately released, stepped out of an unmarked West 24th Street club, between Fifth and Sixth avenues, when a group of men approached and shot them at about 6:30 a.m. according to witnesses and the NYPD.

The victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital, the FDNY added.

A group of women were with the two victims when they exited the club, according to 29-year-old Nayeem Malik, who was arriving at the club when the four or five shots rang out.

"All you heard was pop, pop, pop," Malik said. "The men were lying on the ground. Everybody was screaming."

People ran from the scene, scattering in all directions, police and witnesses said.

Police arrived shortly afterward and an announcement inside warned clubgoers not to rush for the exit, witnesses said.

"They said, 'The police are outside. Don't all leave at once,'" a 31-year-old clubber said.

The after-hours club usually opens at 5 a.m. and has a bar and dancers, according to Friday morning partiers.

"It was like the Wild, Wild West here tonight," Malik said.
