COBBLE HILL — Once an old-fashioned vegetable shop on Court Street, Jim & Andy Market is reopening as "a neighborhood bar" this month.

The bar, to be called Congress and located at 208 Court St., will open on Dec. 20 serving local beers and spirits and snacks, said co-owner Toly Dubinsky.

Dubinsky planned to restore the 1970s look and feel of the veggie shop through restoring its wooden flooring and white metal ceiling, he told DNAinfo New York in June.

While the market’s original sign, along with the name, were to remain, it was changed to Congress because of a nearby street meaning “a meeting of people,” he said.

Jim & Andy Market opened decades ago but closed in January — three years after Jim Cincotta, one of the owners, died.

The bar is still working on their menu.
