STUYVESANT COVE PARK — Something scary this way comes.

Ghosts, giant spiders and sea creatures are taking over Stuyvesant Cove Park this Halloween, Solar One announced.

Free, guided tours of the haunted park will feature a haunted graveyard, a haunted laboratory, witches surrounding a smoky cauldron and sea creatures emerging from the East River, said Dina Elkan, director of arts and events at Solar One.

“[There will be] some special treats for those who are brave enough to make their way through,” Elkan said. “This event was meant to premiere in the park last Halloween, but instead we had something far scarier to deal with in the park — Superstorm Sandy!”

The free haunted tour, which was funded by the Stuyvesant Cove Park Association and Build it Green, will begin at the 20th Street and Avenue C entrance and end at the northern end of the park, near Solar One's blacktop.

The tours will run from 5 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31 and will be suitable for children ages 5 and up.

“It’s for kids,” Elkan said. “It’s not too scary, but just scary enough.”
