STATEN ISLAND — With the deadline for Hurricane Sandy victims to apply to the city’s Build it Back program coming at the end of the month, a nonprofit housing group will host a series of training seminars to help residents apply.

The Association for Neighborhood and Housing Development will host three training sessions in Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens this week for community based organizations to increase the registrations of impacted victims before the deadline.

The first session will be between 1 and 3 p.m. on Tuesday at Staten Island Legal Services, at 36 Richmond Terrace in St. George.

Topics will include outreach strategies and contacting residents and neighborhoods who haven’t registered yet.

The deadline to apply to the Build-it-Back program is Sept. 30.

To register for the Staten Island session, email Eric Williams from the ANHD. For the full list of outreach sessions and to register visit the group's website.
