STATEN ISLAND — A series of free movies in Staten Island parks throughout September will start on Friday with a screening of the Disney film "Wreck-it Ralph."

The film series, sponsored by City Councilman Vincent Ignizio, will screen classic and modern films at four parks around the South Shore of Staten Island every Friday until Sept. 27.

The series will start with the Disney animated film “Wreck-it Ralph,” which tells the story of a video game villain who tries to become a hero in other games, at Seaside Wildlife National Park.

Other movies screened this year will be the 80's classic “Goonies” at Bloomingdale Park on Sept. 6; “Madagascar 3” at the Owl Hollow Soccer Fields on Sept. 20 and “Grease” at the Conference House Park on Sept. 27.

All films will start at 6 p.m., with free inflatable rides for kids before the show. Attendees are encouraged to bring towels and chairs to sit on.
